Environmental
Diagnostics Laboratory (EDLab) has again
distinguished itself in the field of indoor
environmental quality. During the last 10
years, its principals with EDLab have co-authored
numerous publications, and have been guest
lecturers at numerous seminars. EDLab has
performed analysis of over 45,000 samples
and the data is part of a vast interrelation
database that has been utilized to provide
trends for developing baseline conditions.
EMLAP
refers to the Environmental Microbiology
Laboratory Accreditation Program administered
by the AIHA. This program is designed specifically
for professional laboratories specializing
in analysis of microorganisms commonly detected
in air, fluids and bulk samples as part
of IAQ investigations. Laboratories must
meet stringent qualifications to be considered
for entrance into the EMLAP program. Some
of the minimum requirements include: 3 years
proficiency within AIHA's EMPAT, qualified
personnel, administrative protocols and
procedures, a quality assurance program
and an in-house maintenance program. As
part of the AIHA certification, EDLab complies
with International Standard ISO/IEC 17025
general requirements for the competence
of testing and calibration laboratories.
EDLab analysts have completed post-secondary
education, the majority with Master's or
Ph.D.'s in mycology, microbiology or a related
field. Every member of the EDLab team is
committed to the principle of ensuring high
quality analysis and timely service. As
part of their quality assurance efforts,
the staff routinely performs blind duplicate
comparisons among its analysts to guarantee
consistent, reliable and provable analysis
quality. The EDLab mission is focused on
being the best in quality, price and training
within the IEQ industry.
"The
challenging journey towards AIHA EMLAP accreditation
has provided many wonderful insights while
establishing EDLab as one of the finest

Our success is based on the commitment of
our people to strive towards being accurate,
